1. No Account Required

WhatFlick does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use the app. You can identify films immediately without signing up, logging in, or providing an email address.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit:

• Your name, email address, or any contact information
• Your device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Your location data
• Your search history or identification results
• Any personal or financial information

3. On-Device History

Your identification history — the links you have submitted and the results returned — is stored locally on your device only. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to Jacaranda Labs or any third party. You can clear this history at any time from within the app.

4. Anonymous Analytics

To improve the app, we collect limited anonymous analytics. This includes:

• A session hash — a random, non-reversible identifier that does not correspond to any personal identity and resets each session
• Aggregate usage statistics, such as how many identifications were attempted and general success rates
• Crash reports and error logs that do not contain personal information

These analytics cannot be used to identify you personally and are not linked to any account or device identifier.

5. How Film Identification Works

When you submit a link for identification, the URL is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for AI-powered analysis. Anthropic processes this request in accordance with their own privacy policy and terms of service. We do not store the submitted URLs or the identification results on our servers after the response is delivered to your device.

6. Third-Party Services

WhatFlick uses the following third-party services:

• Anthropic Claude API — for AI-powered film identification

We do not sell, rent, or share any data with advertisers or data brokers.

7. Children's Privacy

WhatFlick is rated 17+ and is not intended for children under the age of 17. We do not knowingly collect any information from users under 17. If you believe a minor has used the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide notice within the app. Your continued use of WhatFlick after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
